The aim of this case report is to present a case of Dirofilaria repens that infested the subconjunctival space in a 71-year-old patient. Such occurrences are not commonly observed in Central European countries. The juvenile form of D. repens was identified by means of microscopic examination. Molecular analysis yielded PCR material specific to Filarioidea. The fact that humans might accidentally become definitive hosts of D. repens should be considered during the differentiation with other nematode-induced ocular infections.
