Glaucoma is a complex group of ocular disorders where different underlying abnormalities of the anatomic relations in the anterior segemnt of the eye, play a role. Knowing the cause of filtration in angle closure and the increase of the intraocular pressure is of high importance in chosing the right way of management. Ultrasound biomicroscopy allows a detailed assessment of the anterior relations in the anterior segment of the eye and is therefore useful in diagnosing this group of disorders. This review paper shows the application of this imaging technique in patients with glaucoma.
